Are 2X4 size tiles a good choice for your floors & walls?

When they say size matters.. They were surely talking about tiles that can make or break the way your space looks.

Lately, as tile designs have evolved and most people are choosing tiles over marble due to cost effectiveness, easy maintenance and sheer ease of availability, sizes in which tiles are available has also seen a surge.

600x1200mm or 2X4 as they are popularly known is a tile size that is trending across markets and for all spaces be it residential or commercial be it for your bathroom floors or livingroom floors.

Let’s know why?

Less Grout, More Seamless

This is especially true for those who love a good marble slab or a fan of natural stone but need convenience of tiles and availability in terms of designs and colours that a natural stone may not provide.

2X4 or 600x1200mm are a big block of rectangular tiles when installed together would need lesser grout compared to smaller size tiles. Less grout lines would make the entire space look more natural and spacious.

One Tile Size a Fit for Every Space

2X4 tile size is a versatile size, neither too small that you’d end up looking at a room full of grout lines nor too big that may cause inconvenience not just logistically but also during installation (more on this later).

This tile size can be easily installed and would look great in a smaller space and would enable it to look more spacious, and accentuates bigger spaces.

If using these tiles in smaller spaces, best use them in glossy finish in lighter shades to make the entire space appear bigger. The Vitrified body of 2×4 tiles further makes the tiles look luxurious and elegant in any setting.

Not just floor, this tile size fits perfectly on walls. Be it bathroom walls or using this tile size on the living room or bedroom walls to create an accent, they sit perfectly because the tile size is such that it doesn’t make the walls look cluttered.

Better Designs and Multiple Finishes

Since this tile size is trending across the country and consumers are preferring 2×4 or 600x1200mm for their homes and commercial spaces, tile companies are manufacturing tiles in various designs and finishes such as – glossy, super gloss, matter, satin matte, carving etc.

You can check Orientbell Tiles’ wide variety of tiles in 2X4 tiles now available in Vitrified as well as Double Charge body. Both the tile bodies are strong and have multiple designs from marble to natural stone look to wood look tiles. The wide variety gives you a choice to pick and choose as per your need and desire.

Mason’s First Choice, Logistically Practical

Buying tiles of your choice is only half a battle won, but how the tile is going to come to you and then installed by the mason can make or break the look of your space.

Imagine buying a tile that your mason may not be trained at installing, all the money, effort and time invested in buying the product goes in vain.

Since most masons are now recommending 600x1200mm size tiles, logistically they are trained and well-practiced at carrying this size even to the highest floors without a hassle and also understand the challenges around it.

Also, these tiles save a lot of mason’s time. The tiles aren’t too big that they need an additional hand nor too small to install lots of tiles to complete the room. Lesser tiles in a big size reduces the amount of effort that goes into preparing each tile.
